Lex Eat Together in Lexington, Massachusetts consists of volunteers who desire to share community with those in need. Our mission is to provide a weekly meal in a setting which respects privacy and dignity. All are welcome without question. Please join us.
WEDNESDAY PREPARED MEALS
The Church of Our Redeemer, 6 Meriam Street, Lexington, MA
Meal Prep: 2:00pm-4:30pm
Plating/Packaging Meals for Distribution: 4:15pm-5:15pm
Clean-up: 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Distribute Meals to Guests in their cars: 5:15pm - 6:45pm
Laundry (a single load of dish towels and aprons)
WEDNESDAY SANDWICH BRIGADE
Join other volunteers at The Church of Our Redeemer, 6 Meriam Street, Lexington, MA on Wednesday mornings to prepare Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches to be delivered to Middlesex Community College and distributed to students there who are facing food insecurity.
Sandwich Preparation: 10:15am - 11:30am
THURSDAY LUNCH BRIGADE
Join other volunteers at The Church of Our Redeemer, 6 Meriam Street, Lexington, MA on Thursday mornings to prepare bagged lunches to be delivered to Community Day Center of Waltham, MA.
Grocery Shopping: 8:45am - 9:00am
Lunch Prep Coordinator: 10:00am - 11:00am
Lunch Preparation: 10:00am - 11:00am
Deliver Lunches to Waltham; 11:00am - 12:00pm
PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers are required to bring and wear their own masks and maintain social distancing and Covid protocols and guidelines. We will provide gloves.
The above initiatives, although perhaps individually small in scale, have combined to make a meaningful difference to those among us for whom putting food on the table is a challenge. Lex Eat Together will soon mark its 25,000th meal served or distributed since our first
in-person meal in October 2015. This accomplishment would not be possible without the efforts and dedication of our amazing volunteers or the generosity of our donors.
